Ontario Disc Golf Championship

August 21-22nd, 2021 • Bourget, Ontario

Event Information

We welcome all players to the 2021 Ontario Provincial Disc Golf Championships. As we optimistically approach the 2021 season, we’ve decided once again, as a contingency for a prolonged lockdown period in Ontario you will NOT be required to qualify for the Ontario Championships this year; ALL players are welcome to register, regardless of skill level and province (or country) of origin. The event will be run as a PDGA A-Tier for pros and amateurs and includes $3000 added to the Professional payouts, as well as great player’s packs and a merch-out for the top 45% of the amateur division. The event will take place in Bourget, Ontario at the Ettyville SuperSpin Disc Golf courses. SuperSpin owner and tournament director John Pytel has been hard at work perfecting last year’s additions to his now 36-hole facility. The Super Spin hosts two distinct 18-hole courses as part of the Championships. We’re more than excited to return this August; with both courses available year-round (pending COVID restrictions) for player’s to visit and practice. As is the case with private facilities, John has graciously offered up his property for catered camping (for a fee) over the course of Championship weekend. This option will be available during your registration checkout process. You might also note that, at present, we’re unable to formally register PDGA events in Ontario. We are scheduled as a PDGA A-tier, and while we’ll proceed with registration as a tentatively sanctioned event, we have the utmost confidence that within the coming months, Ontario will return to being certified for PDGA sanctioning and we’ll proceed with our sanctioning status intact. With all that being said, we will be enforcing a strict set of guidelines to promote social distancing during the event and prevent potential transfer from shared surfaces. The Championship will operate through tee times, with 2 rounds being played Saturday and 1 round Sunday for amateurs divisions, and 2 rounds for the professional divisions. This provides a daylight/weather contingency for Saturday and allows amateurs to finish early to pack, travel or (potentially) spectate. Independent award ceremonies, presented by division, will immediately follow the completion of your corresponding last card. A final point of interest include that all players must be both ODSA and PDGA current to register.

Directions & Accomodations

The Ettyville SuperSpin disc golf courses are located in Bourget, Ontario 40-minutes east of Ottawa. See the google maps image to the right for specific directions and address. As we are close to Bourget and neighbouring towns, there are a host of brick-and-mortar accommodation options that we’ll introduce you to in the coming week. We’ve begun by booking a block of rooms at the Microtel Casselman and will release a registration code shortly for phone bookings.   By far the most economical option available is camping on the course itself. John is offering up a catered site option at a nominal fee to all those interested in staying on-site for the weekend. This option will be available in limited quantities at checkout on the DiscGolfScene registration page.
